Jaguar is cooking Electric F-Pace Crossover and Inline-Six Engine
The first fully-electric car from Jaguar will probably be a crossover. The crossover will be originated on the latest F-Pace.
Some hopes! The British producer will not simply outfit the current F-Pace with an electric powerplant. Jaguar will tweak the vehicle’s aerodynamics in order to enhance its range. The automaker wants to reach a drag coefficient of 0.28. In such a way, the crossover will become one of the most aerodynamic cars across the globe. It can even happen that the car will be the most aerodynamic one! The electric F-Pace offering may be called the E-Pace. Magna Steyr will gather together the sleeker, completely electric crossover in Graz (Austria).
The manufacturer was caught by paparazzi while testing an XE sedan with an electric powerplant sometime earlier this year. Jaguar has filed a trademark for EV-Type in Europe and America.
Land Rover and Jaguar want o update the engine range before the E-Pace will be sent to production. The obsolete six-cylinder motors will be replaced with inline-six mills. They take their roots from the latest Ingenium engine line-up. The new V6 engine is scheduled to be introduced in the second part of 2017. It will be a 3.0-litre turbocharged motor with hp range standing from 300 to 500 units for regular petrol engines. Diesel variants will be able to produce 400, 275 and 335 hp.
