The Clarity Fuel Cell from Honda: as Easy as a Petrol Vehicle
Honda unveiled the Clarity Fuel Cell sedan at the Motor Show in Tokyo. It is a hydrogen-powered vehicle. The automaker assures that the car will be as easy in operating and driving as a usual petrol vehicle.
Production form of the model shows the automaker’s commitment to alternative powerplants. The 5-seat sedan receives power from a fuel-cell stack. It provides 60% higher output density and is 33% smaller. According to the producer, the fuel cell is of the same size as a regular six-cylinder motor. This means that the engine could be placed under the cowl instead of taking place in the trunk or under the passenger seats.
The automaker confirms that the zero-emissions model is able to ride 435 miles on a single tank of hydrogen. When the vehicle needs refilling, you will have to wait only 3 minutes. Honda assures that its customers will receive excellent quietness along with an exhilarating and highly responsive driving pleasure. One better thing about the Clarity is that the vehicle generates electricity. Therefore, it can be used instead of a generator.
It will be possible to obtain the Honda Clarity Fuel Cell starting from March next year. The vehicle will appear in Japan. We are not sure if it will reach North America.
