Meet the 2026 Shelby Super Snake: An 830-HP Mustang Beast
- The 2026 Shelby Super Snake boasts over 830 horsepower.
- Starting price is $175,885 and includes the Mustang GT Premium Fastback as a base.
- Production is capped at 300 models for the United States.
Shelby has introduced the 2026 Super Snake, the most powerful Mustang variant to date. Built on the Mustang S650 platform, this model delivers more than 830 hp thanks to an optional supercharger paired with its 5.0-liter V8 engine. Without the supercharger, it retains the Mustang GT’s standard 480 hp output.
This powerhouse also features an enhanced cooling system, a Borla exhaust setup, upgraded performance half shafts, Shelby-tuned suspension, and superior brakes. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic, available in both coupe and convertible body styles.
The manual version is equipped with a short-throw shifter. Additional upgrades include reinforced and lengthened wheel studs along with 20-inch forged magnesium wheels.
Design and Features
The 2026 Super Snake stands out visually with an aggressive appearance. It sports a vented aluminum hood secured with hood pins and carbon-fiber extractors, complemented by a carbon-fiber widebody package that covers the front fenders, bumper, and fascia.
At the rear, drivers find a carbon-fiber diffuser and a ducktail spoiler. Fastback models come with a carbon-fiber rear wing, while all versions feature distinctive Super Snake decals and badges. Window tinting is also offered where regulations permit.
Inside, the Super Snake is outfitted with Shelby-branded floor mats, door sill plates, and embroidered seatbacks. A serialized plaque adorns the dashboard, and manual transmission cars include a Shelby shifter ball.
Pricing and Availability
The starting MSRP for the 2026 Super Snake is $175,885, which covers the Mustang GT Premium Fastback equipped with the Performance Pack, active exhaust, MagneRide adaptive suspension, red brake calipers, and a B&O sound system. The vehicle comes with a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty, supplemented by Ford’s powertrain coverage.
For context, the base Mustang GT with 480 horsepower begins at $48,555, including destination fees. The 500-hp Mustang Dark Horse starts at $66,075, while the high-end Mustang GTD exceeds $300,000.
Shelby has already commenced production of this limited edition, with only 300 units allocated for the US market.
The 2026 Shelby Super Snake carries a premium price tag, especially when adding the optional supercharger to reach its peak horsepower. However, its extensive use of carbon fiber and mechanical upgrades make it much more than a cosmetic refresh. This Mustang variant offers a blend of raw power, advanced engineering, and unmistakable style.
