Geely will present the Monjaro EM-i hybrid SUV at the Paris Motor Show on October 12
Geely is rolling out the Monjaro EM-i, representing the automaker's first global hybrid SUV in the midsize segment. The vehicle is scheduled to make its European debut on October 12 at the Paris Motor Show. The Chinese manufacturer positions the Monjaro EM-i as a global flagship, highlighting upscale ride comfort, premium interior materials, and modern technology.
Under the skin, the 15.7-foot-long SUV is built on the GEA-Evo architecture developed specifically for electrified powertrains. The modular foundation supports multiple energy formats, flexible interior packaging, and high safety standards. Additionally, the SUV adopts the GEEA 3.0 electronic and electrical architecture.
The technical setup underpins the EM-i Super Hybrid system, which functions as a plug-in hybrid setup, complemented by an intelligent e-AWD all-wheel-drive system featured for the first time on a global overseas vehicle from Geely. The digitized cockpit runs the Xingrui and Flyme Auto software systems. The name Monjaro is inspired by Mount Kilimanjaro. While official output and efficiency specifications have not yet been announced, the vehicle will be showcased alongside the Geely E2, Geely E5, and Geely Starray EM-i. Aiden He, CEO of Geely Auto Europe, noted that the lineup reflects the rapid expansion of electrified technologies into Europe.
Headquartered in Hangzhou, China, Geely Auto Group is part of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, founded in 1986 and manufacturing cars since 1997. The holding company oversees a vast automotive portfolio including Lynk & Co, Zeekr, Volvo Cars, Polestar, Lotus, Farizon, and LEVC, while operating a joint venture with Mercedes-Benz Group for Smart. Geely founder Li Shufu also holds an approximate 10 percent stake in Mercedes-Benz Group AG and roughly 14 percent in Aston Martin.
