GWM Unveils 687-HP Second-Generation Wey Lanshan Plug-In Hybrid SUV

Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor (GWM) has officially unveiled the second generation of the Wey Lanshan plug-in hybrid crossover in its domestic market. In export markets, including Russia, the predecessor of this model is sold under the name Wey 07. According to CarNewsChina, the new model shares a platform with the Haval H10 crossover, which launched in China in August 2026, but features a more powerful powertrain and an expanded equipment list.

On the outside, the new Wey Lanshan inherits the characteristic boxy body silhouette of the Haval H10, while adopting a distinctive front-end design with a massive chrome radiator grille and its own headlights. The vehicle comes equipped with 21-inch wheels, a roof-mounted lidar, and additional cameras integrated into the front fenders. The crossover will be available in five-seat and six-seat configurations. The five-seat version measures 5,140 mm in length, 2,050 mm in width, and 1,960 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,010 mm. For the six-seat variant, the body length is increased to 5,300 mm.

The powertrain of the Wey Lanshan consists of a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 244 hp (whereas the Haval H10 is equipped with a 1.5-liter engine), two electric motors, and a four-speed dedicated hybrid transmission. The combined system output reaches 687 hp. Two traction battery options are offered: the base 53.6 kWh battery provides an all-electric range of up to 220 km on the WLTC cycle, while the larger 66.6 kWh battery increases the electric range to 270 km.

In addition, the crossover's equipment list includes a dual-chamber air suspension and an all-wheel steering chassis with rear-wheel steering. Sales of the model in China are scheduled to begin before the end of 2026. The editorial team of Autonews.ru has sent an inquiry to GWM's representative office regarding the prospects of the new model arriving in Russia, where sales of the six-seat Wey V9X hybrid crossover recently began through the Tank dealer network at a price of 9.699 million rubles.
