DS Unveils the F3VER Electric Concept with Animated Lighting Ahead of Paris Debut
French premium brand DS Automobiles, part of the Stellantis group, has unveiled a new concept car called the DS F3VER ahead of the 2026 Paris Motor Show. While DS has worked to establish an identity distinct from its Citroën roots and compete in a crowded segment where German luxury rivals and Mini have an established head start, the F3VER serves as a design manifesto exploring the marque's future styling direction. The company aims to show that it maintains distinct ambitions within the Stellantis brand portfolio, with the concept potentially previewing a successor to the DS 3 supermini.
The F3VER features a compact footprint, measuring 4.19 meters (165 inches) long, 1.84 meters (72.4 inches) wide, and 1.46 meters (57.5 inches) tall. Its front end is anchored by a vertical central element bearing the DS emblem, flanked by futuristic Y-shaped lighting signatures. The rear follows a similar visual theme with a central digitalized logo and multidimensional lighting designed to resemble an illuminated tunnel. The taillights are composed of 16 LED panels mounted on a lightweight magnesium structure inspired by the vaulted roof of the Grand Palais in Paris. The car features a Cosmic Blue two-tone paint finish that shifts between vivid blue and deep violet depending on lighting, customizable roof trim, and wheels with champagne accents and a Clous de Paris pattern.
Customization and simplified manufacturing form the core of the vehicle's philosophy, termed "Design Intelligence." The rear lighting system can display varied animations to communicate information. Beneath the exterior styling, DS focused on reducing component count and vehicle weight through one-piece bumpers, integrated lighting modules, and fewer add-on plastic elements around the wheel arches. Despite its compact footprint, the F3VER utilizes a 2.70-meter (106.3-inch) wheelbase to maximize interior space, paired with a 400-liter cargo capacity.
DS presents the F3VER as part of an upcoming generation of electric vehicles and promises class-leading driving range. However, technical specifications regarding the electric powertrain, battery capacity, charging performance, and driving range figures have not yet been released.
