Bugatti Bolide Thrills Drivers on Miami’s Formula 1 Circuit

At dawn in South Florida, the distinctive roar of the W16 engine filled the air at the Miami International Autodrome. Parked in the pits, a stunning array of Bugatti Bolides shimmered under the early sunlight, their carbon-fiber exteriors reflecting the vibrant surroundings.

With each lap, the track’s character became clearer, demanding accuracy and courage through high-speed bends.

Once comfortable, drivers transitioned to the Bolide. Before tackling the circuit, they received in-depth technical instructions. The Bolide boasts immense downforce, rides on specialized racing slicks, and features a powertrain built exclusively for the track. This hypercar is a pure racing weapon, not a street vehicle.

The schedule mirrored professional racing formats, with five vigorous 45-minute segments comprising installation laps, high-speed runs, and detailed debriefings. Behind the scenes, experts monitored tire wear, managed pit strategies, and analyzed telemetry data in real time. The mission was to achieve absolute precision on the asphalt.

Each driver was paired with a personal coach and dedicated mechanic. Support crews handled tires, fuel, and data management, replicating the environment of a professional racing team and allowing drivers to concentrate fully on performance in a car that challenges even seasoned racers.

Instructors brought valuable insights from international motorsport disciplines, including endurance racing and elite championships. Their guidance went beyond instructions, sharing firsthand experience from the pinnacle of racing to enrich every session.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Bolide drivers completed their final laps, having not only conquered the track but also experienced a machine whose ferocity and precision are unparalleled. The day culminated in a celebratory champagne toast at the Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Fort Lauderdale, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Guests mingled with Bugatti team members such as Sascha Doering and Alexis Ploix, while Andy Wallace, Bugatti’s official test driver and 24 Hours of Le Mans champion, captivated with stories from top-tier motorsport.

For many, the experience confirmed one thing: the Bolide is far from ordinary. It is a radical racing creation, as striking in still photos as it is on the track.
