Hyundai Unveils Split Headlight Design for 2026 Ioniq 6

Three years after its introduction, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 maintains a timeless appearance despite its forward-thinking design. The automaker is now rolling out a mid-cycle refresh for the electric sedan, which continues to spark diverse opinions. A key update is the transition to split headlights, adding to its unique aesthetic. The revamped front features a separate upper strip of daytime running lights, while the main headlights are discreetly integrated into the darkened bumper section.

The updated Ioniq 6 arrives with an N Line variant that boasts more aggressive bumpers and a two-tone exterior, presenting a striking look that may divide enthusiasts. The rear has been simplified by removing the bulky dual spoilers in favor of a single ducktail aero element. The addition of black accents and more robust bumpers draws a resemblance to its crossover sibling, the Ioniq 5 N Line. Early images also hint at the upcoming Ioniq 6 N model, set to be unveiled in July, showcasing its prominent rear wing.

Enhanced Control Interface

Responding to customer preferences for tactile buttons over touchscreen interfaces, Hyundai has committed to retaining physical controls in the 2026 Ioniq 6. The redesigned lower center console now features an increased number of traditional buttons positioned near the cup holders and wireless charging pad. This adjustment follows the trend seen in the Ioniq 5’s facelift last year, which also incorporated more analog controls.

While the full dashboard remains unseen, existing visuals confirm the retention of separate climate controls, now complemented by a slightly larger display. Additionally, the Korean market version of the 2026 Ioniq 6 replaces traditional mirrors with side cameras, resulting in additional screens at the corners of the dashboard. The vehicle also introduces a new three-spoke steering wheel and promises higher-quality materials throughout the interior.

Event Debut

The 2026 Ioniq 6 and its N variant were showcased today at the Seoul Mobility Show 2025 in Korea without revealing detailed technical specifications. It is anticipated that the sedan will inherit various enhancements from the Ioniq 5, culminating in significant upgrades reserved for the high-performance N model.
