2026 Mazda CX-90 Receives Upgrades with Slight Price Adjustment
A few years prior, Mazda launched the CX-90 on a novel longitudinal platform, enhancing both power and interior space tailored for families. The 2026 iteration introduces numerous refinements for a surprisingly minimal price increase.
Pricing and Standard Features
The 2026 CX-90 is priced starting at $40,330, including destination fees, marking an increase of $755 from the 2025 model. This base Select trim includes all-wheel drive, 19-inch wheels, LED headlights and taillights, and rain-sensing wipers. Additionally, the new Polymetal Gray Metallic color is now available, and hands-free Alexa integration comes standard.
The interior features faux leather seating for up to eight passengers and a leather-wrapped steering wheel equipped with paddle shifters. Standard amenities include a 10.3-inch central touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, multiple USB-C ports, and a three-zone climate control system to ensure comfort and connectivity for all occupants.
Performance and Efficiency
Most CX-90 models are powered by a turbocharged 3.3-liter inline-six engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. A 48-volt mild-hybrid system boosts efficiency and improves throttle response. This engine is available in two configurations: lower trims offer 280 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, while higher Turbo S trims deliver 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft. Both setups maintain EPA ratings of 23 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined.
The 2026 CX-90 continues to offer a plug-in hybrid variant for those prioritizing environmental sustainability. This model combines a 2.5-liter inline-four engine with a 17.8-kilowatt-hour battery, producing a total of 323 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The electric-only range remains steady at up to 26 miles before the gasoline engine activates.
With nine trim levels available, the CX-90 provides ample options to cater to various preferences. Premium packages may include 21-inch wheels, a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, a panoramic sunroof, second-row captain’s chairs, ventilated Nappa leather seats for both front and rear, and a 360-degree camera system, along with an extensive suite of safety features.
Prospective buyers can explore customization options through the live 2026 configurator for both Turbo and PHEV models. Mazda expects the refreshed CX-90 to be available at dealerships by the end of the year.
