Experience the Timeless Charm of Classic Trucks with This Restored Ford F-250 Highboy

Rediscovering the Glory of Old Pickups

Trucks of yesteryears served as practical workhorses, devoid of unnecessary pomp and luxury. A remarkable restoration of a 1978 Ford F-250 Highboy by Fat Fender Garage is a testament to the timeless excellence of these vintage pickups that were built to get the job done.

Originally used on an Arizona ranch, this Ford F-250 Highboy underwent a rescue and restoration process, skillfully maintaining much of its original charm, including the striking patina visible beneath its Candy Apple red exterior paint. Fat Fender Garage tastefully upgraded the truck's interior without overwhelming it with modern screens or subscription services.

Preserving the Vintage Aesthetic

The cabin enhancements made by Fat Fender Garage include custom burl walnut wood inserts on the doors, meticulously designed to match the original glovebox. They also added CNC-cut door and kick panels, as well as billet aluminum window cranks. The plastic was replaced with foam and leather, elevating the tactile experience. The bench seat, door panels, and sun visors feature Pendleton Grand Canyon fabric inserts, highlighting the attention to detail. The classic look of the dashboard is retained while incorporating upgraded air conditioning.

Power and Performance

Under the hood, Fat Fender Garage stayed true to the old-school spirit by equipping the Ford F-250 Highboy with a rebuilt 7.5-liter Lincoln V-8 engine, boasting a vintage 245 horsepower. The truck also features front and rear Dana 60 axles from a 2022 Super Duty, a rebuilt transfer case, Fox Performance Shocks, Edelbrock electric fuel injection, Battle Born brakes, upgraded electrical components, and a custom exhaust system.

A Showstopper at SEMA

This impressive restoration project was showcased at the renowned SEMA Show in Las Vegas, where it garnered well-deserved attention and appreciation.
