NIO electric car has a range of more than 1,000 km

Chinese firm NIO has shown its flagship electric sedan ET7, which can overcome more than 1,000 kilometers on a single charge.

The car in China will compete with the Tesla Model S, but the ET7 has a higher battery capacity and drag coefficient among the pluses.

The new NIO will have three different batteries to choose from: essential with 70 kWh, medium with 100 kWh, and top with 150 kWh (cars with this battery will be on sale since 2022). Accordingly, with these batteries, the vehicle will travel 500, 700, and 1000 km.

Blocks of replaceable batteries are an individual feature of each NIO car. The owners will be able to choose the necessary battery independently.

The sedan is powered by two motors: a 245-horsepower unit at the front and a 408-horsepower unit at the rear. Acceleration of ET7 to the first 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

The new model will get everything it needs to drive comfortably on autopilot: dozens of sensors, lidar, Nvidia Orin robotic vehicle platform, and more.

Sales of the NIO ET7 will occur in exactly one year at a price of at least $69,000.
