The most potent Volkswagen Golf ever unveils

Volkswagen has presented the "hot" R-variant of the Golf of the eighth generation.

The new car production is starting at the company's plant in Wolfsburg, Germany. In Europe, sales of new items will begin in a month.

The novelty has acquired a 2.0-liter gasoline "turbo-four" EA888 with a capacity of 320 "horses" and 420 Nm. It turns out that the car came out as the most potent Golf in the current model line. The motor works with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed "robot" DSG for two clutches.

The hatch also got a 4Motion all-wheel-drive transmission with drift mode. The Golf R is equipped with a rear differential that transfers up to 100% of the rear wheels' traction. The car gains the first 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. The maximum speed can be up to 250 km/h. For example, the current Golf R accelerates to the first 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, and the top speed, together with the optional Performance Pack, reaches a little 270 km/h.

The driver will have at his disposal the driving modes Comfort, Sport, Race, Individual, and Special (for the Nürburgring track). The car has improved shock absorbers, new springs, a different anti-roll bar, and larger brakes.
