Peugeot 108 will be reborn as a subcompact SUV

Peugeot will not create a new generation of city car 108.

The model will be converted into the latest subcompact crossover, which may be called the Peugeot 1008.

Recall that the premiere of the Peugeot 108 took place six years ago. Since that time, city cars have significantly lost their popularity. For example, Skoda refused such a vehicle, completing the release of Citigo. Peugeot follows a similar path - the 108 will give way to a small crossover based on the CMP. It will be 4.15 m long.

The engine lineup will consist of gasoline and diesel units, and the base will be a 75-horsepower PureTech gasoline engine. A fully electric version of the model will appear in the future. Such an electric car will get an electric motor from the e-2008 model with 136 horsepower.

Peugeot 1008 will hit the shelves in early 2022.
