The new Subaru WRX STI arrives in Detroit
The Japanese company Subaru continues to announce cars that will debut at the Detroit auto show on January 14th.
One of them is the WRX STI, previously seen on the Virginia International Raceway international racetrack (shown in camouflage on the attached video).
The company has not yet confirmed that the WRX STI will be called the S209, but says that the new model is heading to America "from Japan with love." We remind you that S-series cars have been offered within the Japanese market for a very long time and have never been exported to the United States. They have always been produced in limited quantities and presented to the consumer a number of advantages (as compared with the basic versions).
The previous car belonging to the series, the Subaru WRX STI S208, was unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Show in 2017. He offered a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with increased recoil (329 instead of the usual 310 horsepower), as well as faster steering, Bilstein DampMatic II dampers, front and rear torque adjustment, a large front spoiler, rear carbon fiber spoiler, 19-inch forged BBS alloy wheels and Recaro bucket seats. Circulation was 450 units, 350 of which were supplemented by a special package NBR Challenge Package.
