Range of the 2017 Ford Fusion Energi Plug-In Hybrid Announced

The next year’s Fusion Energi’s EPA-estimated range will be of 610 miles with a fully charged battery and full tank of gas, says Ford.

The model can boast the highest combined range of all plug-in hybrids marketed in America. The vehicle has a number of improvements to the plug-in hybrid application and the regenerative braking set-up. These changes help the car to travel 60 miles further than the previous model.

Under the hood you will find a 2.0-litre V4 Atkinson-cycle motor. It is backed up by an electric motor. There also is a 7.6 kW/hour lithium-ion battery. With such set-up the sedan is able to travel up to 21 miles on electricity. When the battery runs out, the vehicle is powered by the petrol engine (what adds 558 miles).

The automaker has announced the Fusion Energi as a “cure for range anxiety.” The overall range of the car is three times higher than that of the coming-soon Tesla Model 3. Just don’t forget, that the Fusion Energi is an EV.
