C8 Corvette with $290 Million Upgrade from Chevrolet

Having lived 3 years with the C7 Corvette, Chevrolet is preparing the next gen model.

$290 million will be invested into tech upgrades and producing process enhancements. Besides, the Bowling Green Assembly Plant is starting in summer. There also will be a $439 million paint shop. It will be completed in the middle of next year.

$729 million will be invested in the Kentucky plant in the next years. The automaker is having some great plans for the sport car behind the scenes. It might be the mid-engine Corvette that was spied not long ago. According to a rumour, the offering could be presented at the NAIAS in January (2018). The car will be sold together with the current ‘Vette.

According to the reports, Chevy has also 2 other ‘Vettes being developed. One of them will have more power than the current Z06. The last one might be presented at the Auto Show held in Detroit next January.
