Chevrolet Updates 2027 Trax And Trailblazer With Z71 Trim And 20 Standard Safety Features
Chevrolet has introduced substantial updates for its entry-level crossover duo, the Trax and Trailblazer, for the 2027 model year. The refresh follows remarkable market success, with combined deliveries of the two models already exceeding 250,000 units this year.
Both vehicles receive an upgraded electrical and software architecture that expands the suite of standard safety and driver-assistance features to more than 20 technologies. New additions to the standard roster include Reverse Automatic Braking, Side Bicyclist Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Front Park Assist, and Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking. These join carryover systems such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Front and Rear Park Assist, Safety Alert Seat, and Blind Zone Steering Assist.
Inside, the cabin technology has been substantially modernized. Both the Trax and Trailblazer now come standard with an 11.0-inch digital instrument cluster alongside an 11.3-inch infotainment touchscreen running Google built-in with Gemini artificial intelligence. Buyers also receive 12 months of OnStar One, granting in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity and video streaming support.
The 2027 Trax lineup has been streamlined to three trim levels: the entry-level grade, RS, and Activ. Styling tweaks include a revised front grille, fresh wheel designs, all-LED taillights, and a reshaped liftgate, which now offers a power-operated function for the first time. The base trim receives higher-contrast wheels, the RS rides on 19-inch alloys, and the Activ keeps its rugged front-end treatment. A new Storm Sky Gray interior color is offered across both models.
The Trailblazer's most notable change is the arrival of the Z71 trim, a moniker originating in 1963 and known on Chevrolet trucks and larger SUVs. The Trailblazer Z71 features standard all-wheel drive, off-road-tuned suspension, underbody skid plating, and sport-terrain tires, complemented by a Jet Black and Storm Sky Gray cabin with orange accents. Furthermore, the Trailblazer adopts a column-mounted gear selector, which frees up console space for extra storage and retractable cupholders, while allowing Chevrolet to incorporate rear HVAC air vents and an optional AutoSense power liftgate.
Both refreshed crossovers will begin arriving at dealerships in spring 2027. Chevrolet plans to announce pricing details closer to launch.
