The Sexy and Sporty Q6 from Audi will be released in 2018

Audi has described the completely electric Q6 as “sporty” and “sexy” and being “packed with utility” at the same time.

Rupert Stadler characterized the model with these words. The Q6 is expected to be out in three years. Stadler revealed in his interview with Auto Express that the battery pack will be able to provide a minimum range of 310 miles (or 500 km). The CEO believes that the infrastructure of EVs will be prepared for such a vehicle in three or four years. The developments in this kind of technology can allow the automaker to reach that range.

Stadler also affirmed the producer’s intention for a more expensive Q offering placed above the Q7 which will become a rival to the Range Rover SV Autobiography presented not long ago. The vehicle under consideration will probably be labelled “Q8”. It is expected to be launched for sale earlier than in the end of the decade. The CEO hinted at the possibility of a competitor to the Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake. He rhetorically asked is there any explanation why the station wagon should not become sportier.
