Minor Updates for next year's Chevrolet SS
The next year’s Chevrolet SS has gained some minor updates before GM’s ditching manufacturing in Australia. The company is going to do it in two years.
Looking at the front you will see a revised fascia with innovated vertical ducts at the outer edges. These ducts help directing airflow over the openings at front wheels. In such a way, aerodynamic efficiency improves. Moreover, there are new LED lights at the front. 19-inch cast-aluminium wheels and innovated and functional hood vents supply the sporty sedan with an impressive appearance. The 2016 model year changes also include a dual-mode exhaust. It was used in order to offer quieter performance in combination with low engine speeds.
The Chevrolet SS has the same performance: its 6.2-litre eight-cylinder engine develops 415 hp and torque of 415 pound-feet. The engine is joined to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a paddle-shift six-cylinder automatic transmission with the same amount of speeds.
The automaker has stated that it is going to leave the market in Australia in two years. Probably, that means that the model under consideration will stop being produced as well. The producer from America joins Toyota, Ford and some other manufacturers that will stop their production there.
The Chevrolet Performance Car marketing manager says that the design changes of the vehicle help to express the real sedan’s driving nature. Besides, they enhance the overall performance of the 2016 SS.
