Ford wants to have Glowing Body Panels

Ford is going to use photoluminescent technology which will light the producer’s cars.

Huge amount of patent applications were known about. They were giving some details on the technology the automaker is going to apply on its cars. It will be lighting that results after being exposed to some wavelengths of light. It reminds of the glow-in-the-dark work.

Ford wants to use such kind of lighting for vehicle graphics, lift gate lamp, vehicle trim and fabric, vehicle step lamp, bin lamp, vehicle console, colour changing dome map lamp, interior and exterior moving designs and device holder. Every one of the patent application had photos which showed the technology and the way it works.

The driver will have an opportunity to control which body panel or graphic is lightening on the outside of the vehicle. This will be possible thankfully to the new technology. A controller will be applied to interior lights and the dome. It will be possible to be in charge of the output colour of the light.

It was found out that the American automaker is going to use the photoluminescent lighting technology on different units inside the cabin. The producer will also apply it to light up steps on the side of a car and the lift gate lamp.

We are looking forward to seeing this tech. It is possible to imagine the outlook of Fast and Furious Mustangs lightened up with flames.
