Ford wants 'Luminescent Vehicle Molding' Patent

Ford might consider the chance of lighting-up body panels for its future vehicles.

The American producer applied for a patent last month for “Luminescent Vehicle Molding”. Those are body panels which could light up.

A diagram of Ford Mustang convertible was also filed. Its plastic trim parts and areas around the beltline are created to light up. The producer says that the technology can be perfectly used for both functional and/or decorative lighting. It is similar to puddle lights, but it will not be used for the car’s tail part.

We are looking forward to see the reaction of American regulators at this technology. We know that they did not like advanced lightning too much. This dislike includes matrix LED and laser lights. Both of them have not been approved in America, but are available on the continent.
