Expect VW Amarok Facelift in Mid-2016

The VW Amarok is aging, so the automaker has decided to work on its facelift.

CarAdvice reports that the updated Amarok will be presented in the middle of the next year. The model will feature an upgraded cabin with an infotainment set-up with Android Auto compatibility and Apple CarPlay. The interior is supposed to rock a revised trim and upholstery combinations. However, the automaker has not shared official details yet.

The publication assures that there won’t be anything radically changed in the design. Therefore, expect the truck with restyled headlamps and a little bit revised front fascia with an updated radiator enclosure.

Options for the engine will probably be the same. Though, the automaker might come up with some minor changes improving fuel efficiency and performance.

We remind you that the Amarok is facing a rough competition from the latest Mitsubishi Triton / L 200, Nissan Navara and Toyota HiLux. The producer wants to launch a pickup by 2020.
