California Roads, wait for Ford's Self-Driving Cars

Ford is officially confirmed the beginning of its self-driving vehicles testing. It is to be held on public roads in California.

A whole fleet of self-driving Fusions will be tested next year. More than 100 researchers are working on this testing. The project is a part of the company’s 10-year self-driving offering scheme.

The brand’s president says that their Palo Alto team has significantly grown this year. It uses innovation and research for developing and exploring the mobility solutions of the future. Specialists from around the globe will join their team in Silicon Valley along with employees from local technology universities and companies. All these professionals want to change the way the world moves in order to enhance the level of people’s lives.

The company’s division in Silicon Valley is testing several systems now, such as virtual interaction between the vehicles under consideration and pedestrians. It is possible by fusing the data from several sensors and camera-based pedestrian detection.

Ford is collaborating with Riders for Health. They want to collect GPS data and mapping coordinates in the rural areas of Africa. In such a way it will be possible to make the deliveries of vaccines and health care more efficient.
