Air Bag Problems caused a recall of Chevrolet Impala

The Chevrolet Impala from 2014 and 2015 is suffering a recall over a probable air bag flaw.

More than 8,900 Impala sedans that ride with front vented and heated seats fall under the recall. The American producer says that moisture which is present during steaming of the seat in the seat assembly manufacturing procedure could lead to a calibration fault in the electronic control unit for the passenger side safety bag. As the result, the car may not deactivate the passenger side safety bag if a baby seat is put in the front.

There are 215 Impalas under consideration in Canada and 5,493 in America. 3,281 affected vehicles were exported in other countries around the globe. At the moment the company is not aware of any injuries, accidents or fatalities connected with the problem. Dealerships will recalibrate the passenger seat. It will be done free of charge. In such a way the issue will be fixed.

The problem was told about with the help of “Speak and Safety” program of General Motors. This program kicked off after the large recall connected with the ignition switch.
