2016 Malibu from Chevrolet Spotted without Camouflage in China

The next generation model from Chevrolet called Malibu was spotted without camouflage during its testing in China.

The mid-size sedan from Chevrolet will reach its ninth generation soon. The new generation will bring a restyled front fascia with slender headlamps and a larger lower grille. At the same time the upper grille will incorporate the bow tie logo. The rounded fog lights have obviously been eliminated. According to the previous spy pictures, strips of LED daytime running lights replaced them.

The side profile looks virtually the same as the outgoing offering version, though the pictures of the low quality do not allow seeing the vehicle clearly. Unluckily, the spy photographers from China could not take pictures of the back end and it is unknown if the Camaro-resembling taillights remained there.

Reminding that GM’s Vice President of Global Design has stated earlier that the innovated Malibu will gain a Corvette-reminding styling. GM’s Executive Vice President of Global Product Development stressed that everybody will be blown away with the vehicle’s design. He also added that the car will drive closer to what the company should be.

There is no much information about the innovated Chevrolet Malibu. Some reports tell that it will have architecture of the revised variant of the Epsilon II. The engine range is said to be sourced from the current offering.

An official presentation is scheduled for the first part of April at the Auto Show in New York. The automaker will probably show the vehicle at the Auto Shanghai in China sometime later in April. Deliveries will be launched this autumn.
