Race Modification of Volkswagen Beetle Cranks out 544

Turbo engine combined with 544 hp creates quite a peculiar spirit around Beetle GRC.

Motor racing park of the German brand has been extended to one more member today – GRC deriving from the last Beetle generation. New product with turbo V4 for 1.6 litres will act as a substitute to Polo counterpart this season. VW team will work with new drivers.

Motorsport boss of the brand states that Beetle GRC is expected to show the same great results as Polo does since its rallycross launch. Advantages of the vehicle imply not only peculiar outlook but also application of the most modern engineering solutions. Capito promised to VW team supporters that GRC performance will be quite impressive.

Meanwhile, true fans already know the way the car looks from a Chicago preview earlier this year. Meant specially for rallycross championship, racing Beetle boasts suspension travel totalling 9.1 inches, long front brakes and a bit shorted rear ones. Weight figure is undisclosed, but a 60-mph sprint is conquered in mere 2.1 seconds.
