Large Recall Batch of Inflammable Chevrolet Aveos

218,000 units will be affected by the recall initiated today by General Motors in order to rule out inflammation danger.

The problems comes from an unexpected source: Aveos produced in 2004 – 2008 sport daytime running lamps and it is their module taking the central position in the panel that gets overheated and thus becomes potentially inflammable.

Profile American safety administration informs that the ways out of the issue have not been chosen by the parent company yet. Timeframe of the campaign as well as elaborated repair method will be announced later.

This 218,000-unit batch is an addition to 2.42 million cars of various modification and containing different defects announced for recall yesterday. The most recent campaign comes 30th in the range of General Motor’s misfortunes only in 2014. Only 200,000 more recalled cars will accomplish a tremendous 14-millionth mark gradually extended since the beginning of the year.

Approximately $400 million will be allocated by the company to deal with the recalls by July. Probably, when the details of Aveo campaign are made public, the sum will rise. General Motors was forced to sacrifice the entire net profit to fix the infamous ignition switch issue during the three months of this year.
