Jaguar XQ Crossover to be Showed in Frankfurt

Brand-new Jaguar XQ crossover, which is going to share its platform with a Jaguar sedan, will be presented at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show in September.

Rather than sharing a platform with a current Land Rover model, the Jaguar XQ or Q-type will run on a variant of the XS platform, a smaller sedan that Jaguar is going to manufacture to compete versus the popular BMW 3 Series.

The XQ is planned for 2016 production and will share its powertrain with Land Rover with a probability that the Ford-sourced 4-cylinder found in the Evoque being used. The top-of-the-line XQ will possibly utilize the 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 used in the Jaguar vehicle lineup.

CarsBase will be reporting live from the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show, so check back when the media preview days kick off for more info on Jaguar’s freshest version.
