2014 VW Passat 1.8T Kicks Off at $20,885

VW has announced price for Passat models, all of which receive their power from a 1.8-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder motor.

At the very bottom of the 1.8T range is the Passat 1.8T S, with the price of $20,885 when fitted with a 5-speed manual transmission. Bump up to the Wolfsburg Edition and VW will charge you $23,955, adding some interior content as well as a regular automatic transmission.

The top 1.8T model, the SE, kicks off at $24,465, while the SE with sunroof goes for $26,385. Moreover, the SE with sunroof and navigation is worth $27,545.

This little turbo 4 provides 171 hp, matching the power ratings of the outgoing VW 5-cylinder motor, and even topping it by 7 lb-ft of torque with a total 185 lb-ft.

Fuel efficiency has been also enhanced thanks to the new engine, and is now estimated at 34 mpg highway and 28 mpg city when the vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission. When equipped with the manual, the vehicle is estimated at 24 mpg city and 35 mpg highway.
