Sixth-Generation GM Small Block V8 Engines for Silverado and Sierra

General Motors introduced its sixth-generation Small Block V8 family for full-size pickups, featuring a 5.7-liter L76 and a 6.6-liter L78. The 5.7-liter engine delivers 402 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque with a maximum towing capacity of up to 13,700 pounds. The larger 6.6-liter unit produces 481 hp and 501 lb-ft of torque, with both engines featuring dual port and direct injection alongside tuned intake runners.
