Mercedes-AMG Rules Out V8 Return for C-Class

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the V8 engine will not return to the AMG C-Class, despite plans to keep building eight-cylinder engines through at least 2035. Instead of the heavy 671-hp four-cylinder plug-in hybrid setup used in the C63 S E Performance, the brand is preparing a milder AMG C53 featuring a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six. The facelifted C-Class lineup continues forward with refreshed styling and electrified four- and six-cylinder powertrains.
