The model served as the debut vehicle for the WEY brand, built on an upgraded Great Wall crossover platform. It featured a unibody construction available in a standard crossover body, a VV7 GT coupe-SUV variant, and a plug-in hybrid VV7 PHEV edition. Power came from a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
