The third Touareg utilizes the MLB Evo platform, featuring Innovision Cockpit curved displays and four-wheel steering.
The Volkswagen Touareg III (Typ CR) debuted in Beijing in March 2018. As Volkswagen's flagship SUV, it shares the aluminum-intensive MLB Evo platform with the Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7. Its body design features a massive chrome grille merged into IQ.Light LED matrix headlights. The cabin premiered the Innovision Cockpit combining a 12-inch digital cluster with a curved 15-inch touchscreen.
Chassis technology includes all-wheel steering, active roll stabilization, and night vision assistant. Engine options include 2.0 TSI, 3.0 V6 TSI, 3.0 V6 TDI, and a high-performance 4.0 V8 TDI producing 421 hp and 900 Nm of torque. A 2023 facelift added HD Matrix headlights and an illuminated rear emblem.
