About this generation

The third Touareg utilizes the MLB Evo platform, featuring Innovision Cockpit curved displays and four-wheel steering.

The Volkswagen Touareg III (Typ CR) debuted in Beijing in March 2018. As Volkswagen's flagship SUV, it shares the aluminum-intensive MLB Evo platform with the Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7. Its body design features a massive chrome grille merged into IQ.Light LED matrix headlights. The cabin premiered the Innovision Cockpit combining a 12-inch digital cluster with a curved 15-inch touchscreen.

Chassis technology includes all-wheel steering, active roll stabilization, and night vision assistant. Engine options include 2.0 TSI, 3.0 V6 TSI, 3.0 V6 TDI, and a high-performance 4.0 V8 TDI producing 421 hp and 900 Nm of torque. A 2023 facelift added HD Matrix headlights and an illuminated rear emblem.

Volkswagen Unveiled Mission Efficiency Concept EV With Record 0.158 Drag Coefficient

Volkswagen has revealed the Mission Efficiency concept, an ultra-aerodynamic electric coupe built on the MEB+ platform as a spiritual successor to the XL1. During a test drive from Wolfsburg to Vienna, the prototype covered 1,278 kilometers on a 54.9-kWh battery with a single recharge, achieving an energy consumption of 6.89 kWh per 100 km.

All-New Volkswagen ID. Aura T6 Electric SUV Revealed

The Volkswagen ID. Aura T6 is a midsize electric SUV built on the new CEA modular platform, boasting an ultra-sleek aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.245 Cd. It features a 228 hp rear electric motor and LFP batteries delivering up to 660 km of range, combined with a total cargo capacity of up to 1,796 liters. The high-tech cabin includes an AR head-up display, a 15.6-inch central screen, and a comprehensive LiDAR-based driver assist system.
