The Volkswagen Scirocco III (Typ 13) made its debut at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show after a 16-year hiatus. Inspired by the Iroc concept, it adopted a low-slung wide track silhouette engineered on the PQ35 chassis in Portugal.

Engine specs offered 1.4 TSI, 2.0 TSI, high-output Scirocco R (up to 280 hp), and 2.0 TDI diesels paired with manual or DSG transmissions.
