The first-generation Volkswagen ID. Cross is engineered on Volkswagen Group's dedicated front-wheel-drive MEB platform configuration designed for subcompact electric vehicles. Featuring a five-door crossover SUV body style, the model incorporates distinctive front and rear LED light signatures, short overhangs, and rugged protective trim. Power comes from an efficient front-mounted electric motor paired with lithium-ion battery packs engineered to balance cost, weight, and usable driving range. The cabin showcases a fully digital driver interface, a centrally positioned infotainment touchscreen, and standard active safety systems from the IQ.Drive suite.

Volkswagen Begins Production of 2027 Atlas at Chattanooga Plant
Volkswagen has kicked off production of the redesigned 2027 Atlas three-row SUV at its Chattanooga, Tennessee factory. Equipped with a 282-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, the vehicle reaches dealerships in October, while the two-row Cross Sport version will follow in early 2027.
