About this generation
The first generation of the Lada Niva Legend receives an updated 1.8-liter engine, a driver-side front airbag, and fully galvanized body panels.
The updated first generation of the Lada Niva Legend is based on a classic unibody platform equipped with full-time four-wheel drive and a manual center differential lock. In the heavy-duty Bronto specification, the chassis receives reinforced front suspension components, a strengthened rear axle beam, and screw-type limited-slip differentials on both axles. Ground clearance is expanded through upgraded springs, high-travel shock absorbers, and 15-inch off-road wheels fitted with 235/75 R15 mud-terrain tires measuring 29 inches in total diameter.
The primary technical evolution is the introduction of an updated 1.8-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine delivering 90 horsepower and 152 Nm of torque, linked to a five-speed manual gearbox. For the first time in the vehicle history, the body shell is manufactured with two-sided galvanized steel sheet for comprehensive rust prevention. Interior safety updates include the standard integration of a driver front airbag, while the exterior features heavy-duty protective body cladding and redesigned bumpers.
