Launched in 2002, the Vauxhall Vectra (C) transitioned to the all-new GM Epsilon I platform, introducing electro-hydraulic steering, sophisticated CAN-bus electronics, and a substantially roomier passenger cabin. The body lineup comprised a four-door saloon, five-door hatchback, and an expansive five-door estate built on an extended wheelbase. Engine choices included 1.8-litre naturally aspirated, 2.2-litre Direct petrol engines, 2.0-litre Turbo units, a 3.2-litre V6, and a flagship 2.8-litre Twin-Scroll Turbo V6 on the performance VXR model generating up to 280 hp. The diesel roster featured robust 1.9-litre CDTi units co-developed with Fiat, beside earlier 2.0/2.2 DTI units and an Isuzu-sourced 3.0-litre V6 CDTi. Transmissions included five- and six-speed manuals as well as five- and six-speed automatics. A major mid-life facelift in 2005 introduced swept-back headlights, updated fascia styling, and refined suspension geometry before the model gave way to the Insignia in 2008.
