Vauxhall Tigra I (A) gallery (1994–2001)

The first generation Vauxhall Tigra debuted in 1994 and was manufactured in Zaragoza until 2001. Built on the GM4200 front-wheel-drive platform shared with the Corsa B, the car featured a distinctive and aerodynamic 2+2 coupe body styled with a dramatic wrap-around rear glass window. The powertrain lineup exclusively featured 16-valve Ecotec petrol engines: a 1.4-litre X14XE producing 90 hp and a range-topping 1.6-litre X16XE with 106 hp. Power was delivered through a standard five-speed manual transmission, while a four-speed automatic was available as an option on the 1.4-litre model. The suspension geometry and damping were fine-tuned with input from Lotus engineering to deliver dynamic and agile road holding. While sold in the United Kingdom under the Vauxhall badge, it was marketed across mainland Europe and international markets as the Opel Tigra, Chevrolet Tigra, and Holden Tigra. The car remained in production without major visual facelifts until 2001.
