In 2024, Vauxhall resurrected the historic Frontera nameplate for an all-new compact family crossover designed to replace the aging Crossland. Underpinned by the flexible Stellantis Smart Car Platform, the new vehicle represents a complete departure from the rugged body-on-frame architecture of its 1990s namesakes, adopting a modern monocoque construction focused on urban practicality and interior space. Styled with Vauxhall's signature Vizor front fascia and robust, boxy proportions, the five-door crossover is uniquely offered in both five-seat and seven-seat cabin configurations. The powertrain lineup is fully electrified, featuring 48V mild-hybrid systems based on a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine producing 100 hp or 136 hp, paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission housing an electric motor. Additionally, a pure electric variant, the Frontera Electric, features a 44 kWh LFP battery pack and a 113 hp front-mounted motor providing a WLTP range of over 186 miles.
