The Vauxhall Cascada debuted in 2013 as a stylish full-size four-seat convertible designed to elevate the brand into a more premium lifestyle segment. Built on the GM Delta II platform with extended dimensions, it incorporated suspension components from the larger Insignia, most notably the HiPerStrut front setup designed to eliminate torque steer and improve cornering precision. The Cascada featured a structurally reinforced open-top body and a sophisticated multi-layer acoustic fabric roof that could be opened or closed in 17 seconds at vehicle speeds up to 31 mph. Powertrain offerings included a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 140 hp, a direct-injection 1.6-litre SIDI Turbo producing 170 hp or 200 hp, alongside a 2.0-litre CDTi diesel with 165 hp and a potent 2.0-litre BiTurbo CDTi delivering 195 hp. Transmissions included six-speed manual and six-speed torque-converter automatic units driving the front wheels. The interior offered high-grade leather upholstery, AGR-certified ergonomic front seats, and advanced active safety features. Sales in the United Kingdom ended in 2018.
