Vauxhall Agila II (B) gallery (2008–2014)
The second-generation Vauxhall Agila adopted a sleeker, more modern aesthetic while retaining superior packaging and utility.
Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007 and arriving on UK roads in spring 2008, the second-generation Vauxhall Agila represented a complete stylistic and engineering evolution over the boxy original. Jointly developed with Suzuki as a sister car to the Suzuki Splash on a modified Suzuki Swift platform, Agila B featured softer curves, an aerodynamic silhouette, and a significantly more modern cabin ambiance. The engine lineup included Suzuki-derived 1.0-litre three-cylinder and 1.2-litre four-cylinder Dual-VVT petrol engines, alongside the refined 1.3-litre CDTI common-rail diesel. While a five-speed manual transmission came as standard across the range, the 1.2-litre petrol variant offered the choice of a four-speed torque-converter automatic transmission, expanding its appeal to city commuters. Built at the Magyar Suzuki plant in Esztergom, Hungary, the Agila B remained in production until 2014, when it was subsequently succeeded in the Vauxhall lineup by the Viva city car.
