The Toyota bZ3 electric sedan (SD10) was co-developed with BYD and FAW, going into production in China in 2022.
The Toyota bZ3 mid-size electric sedan, designated SD10, was revealed in October 2022 as the second member of Toyota's Beyond Zero (bZ) electric vehicle lineup. Developed specifically for China by the FAW-Toyota joint venture, the vehicle utilizes the modular e-TNGA platform paired with BYD's Blade lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery packs and electric motors. The exterior boasts a highly aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.218. Inside, the cabin features a unique Digital Island vertical 12.8-inch touchscreen interface and a distinctive flat-top steering wheel.
The bZ3 is offered with rear-wheel drive powering options of either 184 hp or 245 hp. Battery capacities range between 49.9 kWh and 65.3 kWh, yielding a CLTC driving range of 517 km to 616 km respectively. Fast-charging capabilities allow recharging from 30% to 80% in approximately 27 minutes. Suspension tuning incorporates MacPherson front struts and a multi-link rear setup, providing balanced ride comfort for urban driving.
