Unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, the second-generation Suzuki Baleno (chassis code WB series) revived the iconic nameplate as a spacious premium B-segment hatchback. Built as the premiere model on Suzuki's lightweight HEARTECT platform, the Baleno introduced the 'Liquid Flow' styling language and boasted class-leading tandem seating distance alongside a generous 355-liter luggage capacity. Primary global production was based at Maruti Suzuki's Gujarat plant in India.

Powertrains featured a 1.2-liter Dualjet four-cylinder engine (90 hp), a 1.0-liter direct-injection three-cylinder Boosterjet turbocharged engine (111 hp), and a 1.3-liter DDiS turbodiesel engine. Suzuki offered its SHVS mild-hybrid system on select 1.2-liter models. A 2019 facelift updated the front fascia with a wider 3D grille, revised bumper fog lamp housings, LED projector headlamps, and an upgraded SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system.
