Suzuki Aerio I (RA21S) gallery (2001–2007)
The Suzuki Aerio compact family (RA21S) was produced from 2001 to 2007.
Manufactured from 2001 to 2007, the Suzuki Aerio (RA21S chassis series, sold in Europe as the Liana) succeeded the Cultus/Baleno range. Offered in 5-door high-roof hatchback and 4-door sedan body styles, the Aerio prioritized cabin headroom and outward visibility, built on a chassis with four-wheel independent MacPherson strut suspension and an early digital instrument cluster.
Engines for North American and Japanese markets included 1.5-liter (105 hp), 2.0-liter (145 hp), and a 2.3-liter J23A engine (155 hp) added in 2004. Transmission options included a 5-speed manual, a 4-speed automatic, and optional full-time 4WD. A 2004 facelift replaced the digital gauges with analog dials and restyled the front fascia.
