About this generation
The first generation of the Subaru Uncharted subcompact electric crossover, featuring a 74.7-kWh battery and available 221-hp FWD or 338-hp AWD powertrains.
Introduced for the 2026 model year, the first-generation Subaru Uncharted debuts as an all-new entry in the brand's electric lineup without a direct predecessor. Co-developed with Toyota and manufactured by Subaru, the five-door subcompact SUV shares its core architecture with the electric Toyota C-HR. Exterior dimensions measure 177.8 inches in length, 73.6 inches in width, and 63.8 inches in height on a 108.3-inch wheelbase, with the front-wheel-drive variant carrying a curb weight of 4,102 pounds and a 56/44 percent front-to-rear weight distribution.
Two powertrain configurations are offered at launch, both mated to a single-speed fixed-ratio transmission and drawing energy from a 74.7-kWh NMC lithium-ion battery pack. The entry-level Uncharted Premium utilizes a single front-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor rated at 221 hp and 198 lb-ft of torque, delivering an EPA-estimated range of 308 miles and a 0–60 mph time of 6.2 seconds. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive Uncharted GT increases total system output to 338 hp, cutting the 0–60 mph sprint to 4.6 seconds. Standard NACS fast-charging capability supports up to 150 kW.
Inside, the cabin foregoes a traditional glove compartment and front trunk in favor of a compact dashboard layout with copper trim accents, dual wireless phone chargers, and a push-down rotary gear selector. A hexagonal steering wheel frames a high-mounted digital instrument cluster near the base of the windshield, complemented by a 14.0-inch central touchscreen running Toyota's infotainment interface with physical knobs for audio volume and climate temperature.
