SsangYong Korando II (KJ) gallery (1996–2006)

The second generation Korando featured a distinctive bio-design exterior by Ken Greenley and a wide range of Mercedes-Benz powertrains.

The second-generation SsangYong Korando, designated internally as KJ, marked a major milestone for the brand with its striking, unconventional styling penned by Ken Greenley. Built on a sturdy ladder-frame chassis, it utilized an independent front suspension and a robust part-time four-wheel-drive system. Under the hood, it featured licensed Mercedes-Benz powertrains, including reliable four- and six-cylinder gasoline units alongside the dependable OM601 and OM602 diesel engines, paired with manual and automatic transmissions. Alongside the standard three-door hardtop body, a convertible variant was also offered in select markets. The vehicle enjoyed global distribution across Europe, Asia, and South America, and was later produced under license in Russia as the TagAZ Tager.
