The first all-electric subcompact crossover from the reinvented smart joint venture by Geely and Mercedes-Benz.
The launch of the smart #1 in 2022 marked the rebirth of the smart marque as an equal joint venture between Mercedes-Benz Group and Geely Holding. Engineered on Geely's dedicated Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform, the vehicle's exterior and interior styling was penned by the global Mercedes-Benz design team. This subcompact electric SUV features frameless doors, flush pop-out handles, a floating roof design, and an aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.29. Standard models feature a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 272 hp, while the high-performance dual-motor Brabus edition delivers 428 hp with all-wheel drive capabilities. Energy is supplied by either a 49 kWh LFP battery or a 66 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) pack, providing a WLTP range spanning from 310 to 440 km. Fast direct-current charging up to 150 kW allows replenishing from 10 to 80 percent in under 30 minutes. Built in Xi'an, China, the #1 is distributed globally across mainland China, European markets, and Southeast Asia.
