Rivian R1S I gallery (2022–2023)

The first generation of the Rivian R1S, launched in 2022, is a full-size electric SUV featuring three rows of seating. The vehicle utilizes the same skateboard platform as the R1T pickup, including a fully independent air suspension system and a quad-motor torque vectoring powertrain. The SUV measures 5100 mm in length, providing a spacious cabin for up to seven passengers while maintaining a significant cargo capacity. The model was specifically engineered with an emphasis on high off-road performance and wading capability.

The interior follows a minimalist design language, incorporating sustainable materials like real wood and vegan leather. The central console features a large touchscreen interface that controls the majority of vehicle functions, including climate and infotainment settings. During the first generation's production, Rivian continuously deployed over-the-air updates to improve energy efficiency and suspension behavior in off-road conditions.
