The seventh and final generation of the Pontiac Grand Prix debuted in early 2003 for the 2004 model year, utilizing an updated W-body platform and offered exclusively as a four-door sedan. The exterior design adopted a sharper, more aggressive aesthetic featuring Pontiac's signature split grille, swept-back headlights, and integrated rear spoiler options. Engine options ranged from efficient 3.8-liter V6 powerplants to the high-performance GXP variant introduced for 2005, which packed a potent 5.3-liter small-block V8 engine generating 303 horsepower coupled to a heavy-duty four-speed automatic transmission with manual TAPshift controls. The interior featured sporty bucket seats, upgraded instrumentation, and modern connectivity options for the era. Throughout its run until 2008, minor trim adjustments and color additions kept the car fresh until General Motors discontinued the nameplate and phased out the Pontiac brand entirely. Main markets were limited to the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
